Kennedy Station will require slight structural

alterations for bath rooms latrines, &c. to render it fit for

an epidemic Hospital. A Mortuary will have to be built səpa- rate from the building, and quarters for Wardmasters and Staff; these need not be elaborate of expensive structures. These

had arrangements/better be discussed with and reported on by the

Director of Public Works. As regards a new Station to replace No.7, that will certainly be required. As has been often before reported,No.7

.7 Police Station is one of the oldest buildings

in the Colony. In the main building there are five rooms on

each floor, Two fair sized rooms on the top floor in front are . occupied by the Inspector in charge and his family; of the three in the rear,

one is occupied by the Sergeant,the other two by six European Constables, three in each room;these three rooms are a little over 14 feet square by 13 feet high, witab three beds and a small table in them; there is hardly room to move and hardly an allowance of 450 cubic feet space per san,- certainly not a wholesome condition of things. On the ground

floor the rooms are of the same construction. One room used

as a charge room the other four are occupied by 5 Indian and 8 Chinese Police Constables. In a room which might be a stable

or coach house on a line with the kitchen,latrines and bath rooms, 26 more Chinese Constables are quartered. A little further up the road are the stables,in two of which 11 Indian

Constables are accommodated.

Right more Indian Constables belonging to this station, for whom there is no room,have to be quartered at No.8 Station on Bonham Road,a mile away from their district.
